    Our Baby Bank is acessible to all. We keep things simple with no referrals needed. The Baby Bank is by the door so those that need it most can easily take what they need.

    Our Loyalty Card Scheme means that ANYONE can access our services, regardless of their financial situation. Our scheme offers free transport and access to all of our services.

    The Devon Antenatal Family Centre CIC is a purpose built centre with a Grade 2* listed building. By owning and maintaining the building, we are protecting Barnstaples heritage.

    The antenatal, postnatal and parenting courses that we offer are award winning, offering up to date, evidence based information. The courses are led by a University Accredited practitioner with over a decade of experience.

    We rely on volunteers to support us. We’ve been awarded Disability Confident and value our volunteers with additional needs as well those who wish to give back to their community.

    We are a Community Interest Company which means that any profits we make go directly back into the company to fund our grassroots projects.

“Catherine is amazing. She is so welcoming and knowledgable and has been invaluable in my parenting journey so far. She ran an amazing antenatal course that my husband and I attended which really helped us discuss and prepare for labour and birth as well as great information for the 4th trimester.

She has also been instrumental in my postpartum journey. Her support and advice has meant so much. My feeding journey would not have been as successful as it has been without her.

She genuinely cares about everyone that enters the building and goes above and beyond to support them in anyway she can.

We recently attended the antenatal courses run by Catherine and I can’t recommend the course enough. Not only is it lovely meet other mums and dads and have an outlet but Catherine covers so much in the classes and gets to the facts rather than you reading so much conflicting information on the internet. She is so lovely , kind and has built an amazing centre for the community.

“We’ve attended the antenatal course, breastfeeding, weaning, sleep workshop and baby massage. Every course has been so helpful and informative. Gaynor who ran the baby massage course is brilliant.

Catherine, who runs the centre, is also so knowledgable and simply amazing at what she does! The only way to describe Catherine is like super woman for parents and babies and we feel so lucky to have her support!

The centre itself is the most welcoming and supportive environment with great facilities. It’s so useful having somewhere to change and feed in town. We’re so lucky to have such an amazing centre!.”

  • We're on Cross Street, Barnstaple, EX31 1BA

  • We're open weekdays from 10am-2.30pm. Weekends we are closed to host private events (we do great parties!) and our courses.

  • No! The course fee cover 2 people but you're welcome to bring a friend, relative or come alone.

  • Yes, we are designed for under 5's so that our smallest guests can be kept safe from more active youngsters.

  • No. We are allergy aware and can only manage allergen properly if we know what comes into the building. We have vulnerable people that rely on us to keep our cafe a safe space.

    Please do not bring in your own food - we have a great selection on our menu for little ones and grown ups too.
